Learning happens everywhere.

Learning City Aruba connects schools, families, communities, workplaces and public life into one national approach to lifelong learning.

NATIONAL VISION

Aruba as a Learning City

A Learning City is more than a program. It is a national movement making learning visible, accessible and connected across the whole island. Every classroom. Every home. Every community. Every workplace.

This framework is informed by the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities guiding documents. It does not represent UNESCO designation, membership or endorsement.

THE FRAMEWORK

Six building blocks

Inclusive learning in education

Flexible, learner-centred pathways from early childhood to adult learning.

Families and communities

Homes, neighborhoods and public spaces recognized as places where learning already happens.

Learning at work

Upskilling, reskilling and workplace learning for public, private and civic organizations.

Learning technologies

Digital and AI literacy with responsible use, widening access instead of creating exclusion.

Quality and excellence

Relevance, learner experience and capable professional practice over attendance counts.

A culture of lifelong learning

Learning made visible and recognized in everyday island life.

2026-2027

  3. 3
